"Celebrating Our Ancestors"
Oonugwitu, friends and relatives, to assist you in
your journey to our territory, we have compiled a list of information
that you may find usefull, from Road Maps, Tribal Village locations,
Gas location for boats and vehicles, Motels, Tribal contacts, Canoe
route, Protocol.
Road Map: A Washington grid map is the simplest to utilize
,those support crews coming to Taholah via Port Angeles, highway 101
is the main road. It will lead you to all the tribes on the Olympic
Penninsula. Those support crews/ guests coming via Puget sound 1-5
south, then 101 turnoff will get you to the coast. Click

Tribal Villages: Neah Bay/ Makah is about three hours
by road, west of Port Angeles, and has a port and gas and motels.
Quileute/ Lapush is located 1- 1/2 hours south of Noah Bay and has
motel, Port and gas. Hoh River Tribe is located about 45
min. south of Lapush, it is a river mouth entry by canoe, tent camping
and homes will be opened. Support boats can anchor off of DesUnction
island or back at Lapush. Queets village is the northern most village
of the Quinault, one hour north of Taholah. Raft river can be reached
from there. River mouth entry is very risky with a 1/2
hour window of entry, so we have not scheduled a landing there.
Taholah is a river mouth entry with Protocol occurring inside river
bay, located one hour south of Qneets and will be the final landing
of Tribal Journey this year. Gas, tent camping ,food, Celebration
will take place here.

Protocol: Those farthest by water will be acknowledged
first in landing ceremony as well as potlatch floor. Hereditary
Chiefs will he acknowledged as well, a list of your Chiefs will
help in addressing proper protocol . The Quinaults will Potlatch
to conclude the gathering.
Traditional Games
Open games, with first, second, & third place prizes, also overall
Se-paka (strong man) will be awarded to the most outstanding competitor.
Games will include
Archery, lug of war, Swimming race , pole climb, shinny, rock
lift, capsize canoe race, running race.
