Sweats

There are many different kinds of ceremonies in Indian country and many differences from the way each ritual occurs depending on the people. Each people has it’s own tradition and this is especially clear when it comes to the “Sweat Lodge” or “Inipi" ceremony. These rituals are very old and have been passed from generation to generation. The spirit world recognizes who the “Lodge Keepers” or “Sweat Leaders” are long before the community has recognized them. The people, who conduct these ceremonies did not chose to do so, they were chosen. Respect, sincerity, humility, the ability to listen and slow down are all key in the way you approach ceremony.
